Karhu or 'Bear' in Finnish was first established in 1916 by Ab sportartiklar and establishes a small shop in Helsinki and started crafting local birch wood into skis, javelins, and discuses. After a few years the small shop developed running shoes which was put on the feet of Ville Ritola and Hannes Kolehmainen, the first “Flying Finn”. Nowadays Karhu has branched from running shoes to lifestyle shoes by blending all the attributes of it's running shoes into it's lifestyle shoes making a comfortable and stylish shoe to wear whatever the occasion.

Influence in sport means that you are long lasting, memorable, and measurable. In honour of this heritage, Karhu brings back an iconic sneaker with a name that says it all, the “Legacy 96”.
